Ministry of Skin is a RACGP accredited clinic.

At Ministry of skin we offer a variety of treatments to help reduce the appearance and discomfort of scarring. We can start treatment from the minute the injury occurs to years down the line.

Scarring is a natural part of the healing process after an injury, however it can sometimes result in depressions in the skin, raised lumps that are stable or keep growing in size or produce an altered pigmentation. Due to the number of different types of scars that can be produced, treatment options vary.

At Ministry of skin our clinicans are able to identify the type of scar that you have and tailor a treatment using evidence based medicine to meet your needs and help reduce the appearance of the scar.

Scar Treatments

Scars occur over time as the skin remodels itself after an injury. Its formation depends on the tension it is under from surrounding skin, the quality of skin, any ongoing inflammation, genetics and individual healing mechanisms plus any other ongoing external or internal influences.

At Ministry of skin we can inditify the stage your scar is at and its healing influences. We use this to tailor an individualised programe.

Most programs are ongoing and most scarring requires 3-10 sessions plus ongoing maintence, but we do expect to see reductions in scarring.

Scar treatment can start from the minute the injury occurs to years later. So if you know you are prone to scarring, do not wait for the scar to form, but come and talk to us as soon as the insult has occurred – this very early, often simple advice or treatment can help prevent the scar forming in the first place.
